We are very excited to launch our One-Year Program in Islamic Studies: Usul-Ud-Din Intensive Program in Fall 2015 insha’Allah! This program will be the first of its kind in the U.S. and will focus on the foundational Islamic Sciences, primarily:
- Intensive Classical Arabic (ULUM-UL-LUGHAT-IL-ARABIYA)
- Quranic Sciences (ULUM-UL-QUR’AN)
- Hadith & Sunnah Sciences (ULUM-U-SUNNAH/HADITH)
- Jurisprudence (ULUM-UL-FIQH [HANAFI, SHAFI’I & COMPARATIVE])
- Foundations of Jurisprudence (ILM-UL-USUL)
- Islamic Creed & Logic (ILM-UL-AQA’ED/IMAANIYYAT/SECTS)
- Spirituality & Purification of the Heart (ILM-UL-TAZKIYAH WAL-IKHLAQ)
The program will be taught and lead by Shaykh Muhammad bin Yahya al-Ninowy, and many other dedicated teachers who have taught in the above mentioned fields for years.

CURRICULUM
The Curriculum that will be used for 1-year Foundational Program is below. This is a very intensive curriculum that is years in the making and comprises the essentials from traditional Islamic Studies.
Madina Institute – Curriculum
WHY ATTEND?
Authentic: Based on the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah, i.e. sacred knowledge in a traditional way.
Arabic: An intensive Arabic Language program set by renown Arabic teachers designed to achieve the capacity of engaging classical Arabic texts.
Academic: Experienced faculty consisting of MA and PhD’s from al-Azhar, Syria, Madina, Makkah, Sudan, Al-Qarawiyyin, and others that have taught these subjects for years using modern and traditional teaching methods to actively engage and develop students-scholars.
Accessible: Intensive courses (60 credits) where students have the opportunity to work towards a degree in Islamic Studies (Usul-Ud-Din) right here in USA without having to travel abroad.
OBJECTIVES
- To develop a distinguished Islamic personality, firmly rooted in a holistic understanding of Islam & its various sciences, with an understanding of the intents and objectives of Islamic law, and trained in the purification of the soul and the spiritual sciences.
- To create & prepare specialists in Jurisprudence & its Foundations, Qur’anic & Sunnah Sciences through examining contemporary dynamics and ways in which our vast tradition deal with modernity & contmemporary issues.
- To convey the appropriate knowledge that is responsive to the demands of contemporary Islamic society in the fields of instruction, propagation, social and spiritual guidance and manifesting their academic legacy.
- To produce a group of outstanding students who will be qualified to pursue postgraduate studies in the areas of Quranic Sciences, Hadith & Sunnah Sciences, Jurisprudence, Foundations of Jurisprudence, Islamic Creed & Logic, Spirituality & Purification of the Heart & Arabic. Those that pursue postgraduate studies will be able to actively contribute to research in these fields.

MINIMUM ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Memorization of One Juz’(Portion) of Quran. This can either be a juz’ in it’s entirely (such as Juz’ Amma or the 30th Juz’) or a combination of Quranic passages which make up a juz’ when combined (approximately 20 pages).
- Strong aptitude for both serious study of the Islamic Sciences as well as potential to positively contribute to one’s community upon completion of the program.
COST OF ATTENDANCE
Our goal with the One-Year Usul-Ud-Din Intensive is to make this program accessible to all and for this reason we’ve kept the programs’ costs to a minimum. There will be separate housing facilities for brothers & sisters that will be adjacent to the Institute. Housing : $2,400 ($200/month)
