The greatest era for Muslims has without a doubt been the time of the Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu alayhi wa alihi wasalam. He migrated from Makkah to Madinah and established a "Model Society" that we all now aspire to replicate.
Amongst his most prominent actions were;
- To build a Masjid (Mosque) that was the 'Hub of the Community'.
- To establish a genuine bond of Brotherhood & Love between muslims and encourage peaceful existence with other faiths & communities.
The Masjid at the time of the prophet Sallalahu alayhi wa alihi wasalam catered for the "Social, Educational & Spiritual" needs of it's community.
As Muslims moved out to foreign Lands, they took with them those experiences and tried to establish this Model society whereever they settled.
Every era has it's own challenges. The Muslim Community post 9/11 is no different, facing unprecedented challenges itself.
We at Madina believe that with great difficulties come great opportunities; opportunities to serve communities to make society a better place for everyone.
Madina Institute and Masjid Community Hub - Oldham, located in Clarksfield , Oldham, opened it's doors to the public in December 2016. It aims to represent our perception of what a 21st Century Masjid (Mosque) should aspire to be; attempting to imitate the footsteps of the initial Masjid in Madinah which was built by the Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu alayhi wa alihi wasalam. A Masjid which was a centre of love, warmth, openness and excellence bringing communities together; offering facilities that catered for the "Academic, Social and Spiritual" needs of the Community.
In a short space of time, the Hub has been offering an array of services that deliver benefits to the entire community regardless of race, religion and ethnicity. It acts as a nurturing environment for our communities where we provide emotional, physical and spiritual support through many educational and outreach community projects.
Our Services are primarily in the following areas;
- Masjid & Community Hub (Place of Worship & Communal Activities)
- Madina Institute (Adult Education)
- Madina Tiny Teachings (Child Education)
